Sadly Huntingdon had to abandon today's meeting yesterday, but the good news is that they have taken a leaf out of Exeter's book and are going to try to reschedule the meeting for this Sunday.  Let's hope that it can go ahead - it would be a shame to lose the meeting, especially as they have the Grade 2 Peterborough Chase on the card.  The race is worth £65,000 to the winner, and even the bumper on the card is worth £2,000 - that's better than some of the all-weather flat races!

Looking ahead at the International Hurdle at Cheltenham on Saturday, what a cracker it could turn out to be if all the principal entries (Menorah, Cue Card and Silviniaco Conti) stand their ground.  It would be well worth the admission fee to see those three take each other on alone, and that's without The Vote AP Cup (or December Gold Cup as it usually called).

The Post have been advertising their book store recently and they have no shortage of Christmas present ideas for the enthusiast.  The book that caught my eye was "Freud On Course" a collection of the late great man's witticisms.  Sir Clement interviewed me during my table tennis career when I was a young upstart of about sixteen - he took the mickey out of me something chronic in a way that I was too young to understand at the time - he was absolutely brilliant!

It's been a little milder over the last couple of days and we have been able to carry on very much as normal.  Even so, the picture below is still more reminiscent of a Christmas card scene.  Tom Scudamore is in this morning and will be doing a bit of schooling.
