There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Plumpton and Ayr while there is also an all-weather flat card from Wolverhampton.  It is going to be a busy day for the yard with runners at both of the National Hunt fixtures.  I will start at Plumpton where Work contests the two mile novices' hurdle at 1.25pm.  She looked the likeliest winner on her debut at Ffos Las until unseating Tom Scudamore at the penultimate flight, although she was a little disappointing last time when fourth.  She should run well with a clear round but Bastien is a short price and will take a lot of beating.  Sweettoothtommy ran well when runner-up at Taunton last time out and a similar effort would see him go close in the staying handicap chase at 3.05pm - David Noonan rides our Plumpton pair.

Meanwhile stable jockey Tom Scudamore travels all the way to Ayr to ride Bella and Mango Cap.  Bella (pictured above) runs in the 1.40pm race which is a 2m mares' handicap hurdle - she is genuine, will like the ground and looks to have a decent chance.  Mango Cap goes in the novices' handicap chase at 2.45pm - he is only 2lbs higher than when scoring over timber and he will also appreciate underfoot conditions and has solid claims.

The stable had a couple of seconds over the weekend with Champers On Ice filling the runner-up spot in the Listed novices' chase at Warwick on Saturday.  He stayed on well in the closing stages and the uphill finish of Cheltenham should suit him in future.  Poker Play was second on his stable debut at Lingfield and looks like he could benefit from a step-up in trip - I would be surprised if he did not prove better than this.

I would love to know how it can be right that we are sending £3 million to China to help grass roots football.  It is a complete joke when you consider how much the top teams are looking to pay players such as Diego Costa (£570,000 per week), Carlos Tevez (£615,000) and Christiano Ronaldo (£87 million per year).  Someone in our government needs their head testing...probably more than one person come to think of it!

It looks as though the remainder of the Premiership are trying to gift the title to Chelsea.  Manchester City were destroyed 4-0 by Everton while United and Liverpool fought out a 1-1 draw.  Spurs could yet be the biggest challengers to Chelsea, especially if Harry Kane keeps sound.

What a fight between James Degale and Badou Jack at the weekend.  Degale had a broken nose, burst eardrum and lost a couple of teeth but yet somehow forced a draw to keep his title.  It is the best fight that I have seen for years.

Thought for the days...if the police arrest a mime artist, do they tell him that he has the right to remain silent?!
