         John Parrott at Pond House

There are just two meetings today, both jumps cards at Ffos Las and Market Rasen.  Tom Scu has a couple of rides at Ffos Las and the best looks to be Grace Tara for his brother Michael in the 3.20pm.  There is good prize m oney on offer in Ireland at Navan today.  The lowest prize money on offer is for the bumper but that has £10,500!  Barry Geraghty has some good looking rides for Gordon Elliott.

Can you believe Sam Twiston-Davies metal detector broke down.  He took it with him to Exeter the other day to see if he could get it fixed but apparently is was not broken he just did not know how to use it!

Just think, this morning Ryan Moore will be riding in Japan.  He rides a horse called Moanin in the Grade 1 at Tokyo.  This is a good name for a horse, sounds like he has been named after a trainer!

There are a couple of interesting FA Cup matches today, Blackburn v Manchester United and Fulham v Spurs.  It looks like a couple of away bets for me but I normally like to see the teams they are turning out first.  Having said that, reserve teams should be good enough in these games.  We seem to be losing all our football referees abroad and we will not have any left soon!  Michael Oliver could be moving to America's MLS,  they say money does not come into it - who are they kidding!

There seems to be a lot of these Cheltenham preview evenings coming up.  There is a good one at the Old Railway Club, Melling Road, Aintree.  John Parrott is on the panel.  We have had John down at the yard a few times and he was very entertaining with the snooker and he is also not a bad ping pong player!  I am not sure how much he knows about the racing though but it is for a good cause, the Alder Hey Children's Hospital.

I went to the habersashery - I was looking for a cheap thrill!  Have a good day.
