Un Temps Pour Tout - Wins Again

There is nothing like a winner at Cheltenham to lift the atmosphere of the yard and our marquee at the races.  You should have heard the noise when Un Temps Pour Tout jumped the last, it was then a little quiet when Singlefarmpayment challenged but as they went past the post with Tom Scu punching the air all hell was let loose!  Tom was more confident than a lot of us watching!  A great result for everyone but especially for owners Caroline & Bryan who put a lot into our yard.  To get a winner at the Olympics of horse racing is everything and don't forget our horse was carrying seven pounds more than he did last year and was carrying top weight of 11st 12lb.  I love Tom Scu's quote in the Racing Post "he's a funny horse and you don't know which version will turn up - I'd like to ask him!"

David only has one runner today, Poker Play in the 4.50 Fred Winter Juvenile handicap hurdle.  He has only had three runs, two second and a win and one run for the yard and although slightly disappointing at Kempton he pulled hard that day.  They will go a faster pace today and as long as he settles he could have an each way chance at a big price.

Peter Scu popped into the the marquee yesterday, I think just to have a go at me!  Ron Atkins also popped into see us, I do always mention but he used to ride with RA on his hat.  He was a very good jockey especially when the money was down!

I hope David has remembered that it is his better half, Leanne's birthday today.  I know how touchy ladies get if you forget, I still have some bruises to show for it!

My bet on Leicester came up last night and they were a good price.  Anyone who took the short price about Willie Mullins being top trainer must be a bit worries has he didn't manage to get a winner yesterday but he did have a couple of seconds and a third.  He needs some winners today.  In the England versus Ireland battle, England are 4-3 down as Gordon Elliott had three winners for the Irish.

When I was a teacher I had a nervous tic, everyone got really good marks.  Enjoy day two everyone!
