Virtuel D'oudon runs at Ffos Las

There are just two jumps meetings today, Ffos Las and Market Rasen and David has runners at both. Virtuel D'oudon and You Say What both run in the 4.30pm handicap hurdle over 3 miles.  Virtuel D'oudon carries top weight of 11st 12lb and Tom Scu rides.  He has some good form in the book before an injury kept him off the track for a long time.  He was a bit disappointing on his comeback run at Exeter but he still shows all his old sparkle at home so hopefully he can return to form.  You Say What is making his debut for Pond House have pulled up on his last two starts for his previous trainer.  He has settled in well since joining the team so hopefully he can run well for David Noonan.  Arkadios runs at Market Rasen for Michael Heard.  He has not completed on recent form so a clear round today would be an improvement.  He has blinkers on for the first time and he will appreciate the sounder surface.

I am sure it must be a bit of a come down today for all of the jockeys who have been riding at Aintree but this is their day job and every horse and winner is important.  It was good to see AP up at Aintree on the TV.  I bet he must miss riding as there is nothing like competing in an event and to see all his jockey mates walking down those steps into the paddock must be tough.

I see the viewing figures for watching the Grand National was over 600 million.  This seems quite high to me but it is fantastic if there are really that many people watching our sport.

In the golf I thought it was good of Rickie Fowler to arrive three hours early so he could watch Jack Nicklaus and Gary Player tee off their round.  It is a shame some more of the younger players did not copy him.  They are old legends who have put golf where it is today.

It seems that the Chinese can make anything better and cheaper than us but they have not invented anything to get get rid of the fog!  They had to cancel the practice of the Grand Prix due to this fog in Shanghai.  The fog was actually 24 miles from the track but it would have prevented the air ambulance from landing at the hospital should it have been needed.

In the football today we have Everton v Leicester and it is 4/5 Everton.  Man United are 4/11 to win at Sunderland.  Man United are bad but Sunderland are worse!  Have a nice day.
