Today there are five flat meetings at Wolverhampton, Musselburgh, Brighton, Newmarket and Haydock.  I see that trainer Charlie McBride is going to be pay his £1500 fine for running the wrong horse at Yarmouth from his winnings.  He had £10 each way at 50/1, so even after his winnings he is still £1000 out of pocket.  I think I would have kept quiet about the bet!  Adrian Nicholls has his first runner as a trainer today at Wolverhampton in the 4.50pm.  It is very hard to follow someone like his dad David who was a great trainer, especially of sprinters.  I know a David who has followed a dad who was a great trainer!

I think a jockey who does not get a lot of publicity but is very good is Daniel Tudhope and he is now third in the jockeys championship with 58 winners.  He just seems to go about his job and does not do a lot of flying dismounts but he rode a treble yesterday at Haydock.  They say there will be 17,000 people at Haydock today.  But are they there for the racing or the Olly Murs concert afterwards?!  I guess it does not really matter if the racecourse gets the people through the gates.

It is the start of the Premier League season tonight as Arsenal play Leicester.  The Gunners are best priced 8/15 and if they think they are going to finish in the top four they need to beat teams like the Foxes.  It is live on Sky at 7.45pm.  It looks like Mrs Barnes will not be very happy with me as the soaps will have to give way!

President Trump will be delighted with one of the pros who work on his course in New Jersey as an assistant pro shot a 2 under par 69 at the USPGA Open.  It would have been less but Jim Herman bogeyed the last two holes.

I can't take it any more, the local shop has installed CCTV!  Have a nice day.
