Friday Night Light runs in the Cesarewitch

There are five meetings today, flat cards at Kempton, Newmarket and York plus two jump cards at Chepstow and Hexham.  David has one runner in the 3.40pm at Newmarket, the 34 runner Cesarewitch over 2m2f.  It is a four year old called Friday Night Light who carries 8st 7lb and good jockey Ted Durcan rides.  He is a winner and has some placed form in France but this is his first run in the UK.  It does however look like a very hard race to sort out and he is 40/1 in the betting.  They go 8/1 the field and there are some jumps trainers with runners and I think one of them should win it but I'm not saying which one!  Both Tom Scu and David Noonan have rides at Chepstow over the sticks.

It is also the legends race at Chepstow today.  As we have mentioned before, Paul Leach is taking part in the race and has been riding out at the yard for a few weeks in preparation.  He is looking good on the gallops at home so best of luck to him today and well done on racing a nice amount of money for charity.  It is good to see all the different names taking part in the charity race today.  The race is live on ATR at 1.15pm.  Quite a few have ridden for MCP over the years, in fact Sandy May rode a winner at Hereford!

At Newton Abbot yesterday, Daklondike finished fourth on his chasing debut.  He jumped well carrying top weight and it was probably not a bad run.  He should improve for the experience and maybe some softer ground next time.  Timeforben finished third in the bumper which looked a decent race.  This was her first run since November 2016 in an Irish point to point and she looks like she can only improve for a step up in trip over the sticks.  What a great name for a horse, Beer Goggles.  Owner John Simpson bought him after a long lunch so he is probably well named!  He was a winner at Newton abbot yesterday for trainer Richard Woollacott.

The football kicks off this weekend at 12.30pm with Liverpool versus Manchester United.  9/5 Liverpool will do for me.  I think there will be goals as both defences are so bad!  A short priced treble has got to be Man City, Chelsea and Tottenham.  It won't make me rich but it will give me an interest!  I shall be flicking the TV back and forth!

I don't know who Pete is but he must be pretty important for everyone to worry about his sake!  Have a nice day.
