There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with action from Leicester and Kempton on the flat as well as a couple of jumps fixtures from Worcester and Huntingdon.  David runs Lady Of Longstone at Worcester in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at 3.40pm - she is undeniably well-treated on the best of her form although she has been a bit disappointing of late and needs to bounce back under Michael Heard.  Kalifourchon contests the 2m7f handicap hurdle at 4.40pm - the race has good prize money attached to it so unsurprisingly it is a competitive little contest with some useful runners in the line-up.  Kalifourchon (pictured above) has won four times and finished runner-up recently at Southwell on good ground, although the suspicion remains that he is still high enough in the weights on a mark of 120.  The Post make him a 10/1 chance and stable jockey Tom Scudamore is in the saddle.

I had a little wager at Yarmouth yesterday afternoon and was delighted to see it bolt up.  Aljazeera won the Listed contest in very good style and she looks considerably better than that class and the smile on Frankie's face confirmed as much.  Certainly one to keep on the right side of in the coming months.

There is some good football action to look forward to tonight with Real Madrid taking on Tottenham Hotspur at 7.45pm.  Spurs are normally better away from home but this looks like a hard task and the price tells you as much with the away side 13/2 chances.  Meanwhile Manchester City play Napoli and that is another tricky match - City are 8/13 and based on recent form, I will be backing them in a cheeky little double with Blackburn at 1/2.

I had to laugh when I read the comments of golfer Pat Perez after he won the Cimb Classic in Kuala Lumpur.  He said, "I'm still not going to work out.  I'll still enjoy myself, have a bad diet.  I've got my friends and I am not going to change!"  My kind of golfer!

I was on the receiving end of a bit of stick when I said that Manchester United had a bad defense.  Mind you, if you play ten men at the back you won't concede many goals!  I should have said they had a bad attack instead...is that better Tony?!

I used to work at an orange juice factory but I was fired because I couldn't concentrate!  Have a nice day...
