Purple N Gold runs at Exeter today

Today there are four meetings, flat cards at Newcastle, Yarmouth and Kempton plus a jumps card at Exeter.  David has three runners at Exeter, Purple N Gold, Midnight Magic and Shell Crystal.  Purple N Gold runs in the 2.20pm amateur handicap hurdle over 2m1f.  There are 15 runners and he carries top weight of 11st 12lb less Rex Dingle's seven pound claim.  He is 16/1 in the Post.  He has won off of higher marks in the past but probably does want better ground.  Midnight Magic runs in the 2.50pm, 2m1f novice hurdle.  He is yet to show a lot in four runs but has improved a little bit with each run.  David Noonan rides and he is a big price in the Racing Post.  Tom Scu rides Aintree Bumper winner Lalor in the race.  David's trio of runners is completed by Shell Crystal in the last, the 5.20pm junior bumper over 1m5f.  Only two of the 11 runners have ever run before so you are not sure what you are up against.  She works well at home but the experience will do her good.

All eyes will be on the 4.50pm at Exeter, a Beginners chase which features Yanworth, a 163 rated hurdler who is making his chase debut.  He has won 10 of his 14 career starts and it will be interesting to see how he copes with fences.  We could be seeing a Cheltenham Festival winner in action this afternoon.

The Annual Moorcroft race day took place at Plumpton yesterday and they raised £30,000 with still more to come.  It is a great amount of money for a good cause and it is a very well organised and entertaining day out.

Players get you the sack as Everton manager Ronald Koeman found out yesterday.  The problem is if you spend £150 million on new players you should not be in the bottom 3.  I think he must have upset some of the players as they did not seem to be trying too hard to me.  I am sure he has not suddenly become a bad manager in my opinion.  He will probably get about a £2.5 million pay out and he can buy another Bentley to replace the one he has already got!

Ronnie O'Sullivan is having a row with the snooker chiefs.  He refused to accept the trophy for winning the English Open because he could not keep it!  He can have some of mine, they are all in the loft!

Laugh at your problems...everybody else does!  Have a nice day.
