            Dell'arca runs at Cheltenham

Today we have five meetings, flat cards at Doncaster, Newbury and Wolverhampton plus two jump cards at Cheltenham and Kelso.  David has two runners at Cheltenham, Vaniteux and Dell'arca and they both look to be in very competitive races.  Vaniteux has top weight in the 3.10pm race, a 2 mile handicap chase.  He is only five pounds higher than his last winning mark and at 10/1 in the Racing Post he has each way claims.  Dell'arca runs in the 3.45pm, 3 mile handicap hurdle.  Our eight year old normally runs his race and he was a good second off 140 at Aintree and if he reproduces that run after a break he would have an each way chance.  Tom Scu rides both of our runners.

I see West-country trainer Paul Nicholls goes all the way to Kelso with two runners.  I wonder if one of the owners, Judi Dench will be up there?  It could be another big day for Aidan O'Brien as he has four runner in the Racing Post Trophy at Doncaster.  It must be really good to know you have got four Group 1 class horses, just how many has he got?  Ryan Moore rides Saxon Warrior so you would think he is on the best horse but you just can't tell!  I am sure Aidan will be breaking Bobby Frankel's record this afternoon.

I have always been against professional stables having runners in hunter chases, surely these races should just be for amateur trainers?!  They have changed the rules but in my opinion they perhaps do not quite go far enough.  What do you think?!

I see there was a record crowd at Cheltenham yesterday for their first meeting of the season.  13,132 people turned up and I am sure there will be a few more people there today!

It is Michael Tabor's birthday today.  I will tell you that because he is a fellow West Ham supporter!  Man United are 6/5 to beat Tottenham (no Harry Kane) and my team West Ham are 23/10 to win at Crystal Palace.  If you want some short priced winners I think they are Arsenal, Liverpool, Man City and Chelsea.

I see Anthony Joshua will have a 19 pound advantage over Carlos Takam in his fight in Cardiff tonight.  I wonder what round Joshua will knock him out.

Having fake teeth - that'll denture confidence!
