Today there are just two meetings, both over the sticks at Aintree and Wincanton.  David has one runenr at each meeting.  Katkeau runs in the 1.50pm at Aintree and carries top weight in the veterans chase over 3m1f.  David Noonan rides.  It looks a very open race and there looks to be some well handicapped horses in the field.  At Wincanton, Aero Majestic runs in the 3.55pm, a national hunt novice hurdle and Michael Heard rides.  He has plenty of experience and placed form so hopefully he can go well again.  Tom Scu has a few rides at Wincanton and an interesting one for me is the unbeaten Sam Brown in the 1.35pm for Anthony Honeyball.

It is good to hear the Charlie Hall Chase will be sponsored by Bet365 for a further three years.  They have sponsored the race since 2003 and I know that racecourses are finding it harder and harder to find sponsors.  Mind you I think it is the same in any sport these days and I know the lady golf tournaments are struggling.

It is the Tattersalls sales in Newmarket next week.  There is a good advert in the Racing Post of all Sir Mark Prescott's horses that are being sold.  I must say he always turns his horses and staff out in immaculate condition!  There looks to be several that would make nice National Hunt horses so get in touch if you are interested in buying one.  I know David has been going through the book in fine detail and is planning to be up at the sales.

In the football there is the local derby today, Brighton versus Southampton at 1.30pm.  Southampton are 6/4 to win this one.  Leicester play Everton later in the day and the Foxes are 22/19.

I see they are trying to get cricketer Ben Stokes into the Ashes this winter.  They say he was now trying to defend two revellers outside a Bristol bar.  England would be able to fight better with him anyway!

I just got fired from my job at the pyschic hotline.  I didn't see that coming!  Have a nice day.
