The good form of the stable continued at Plumpton yesterday as Red Square Revival won the 2m3½f handicap chase.  He had just been headed approaching the last when rival Firmount Gent unseated Harry Skelton at the final obstacle.  Red Square Revival was badly hampered by his departure but maintained the partnership with Tom Scu and the pair came home to score.  You need a bit of luck sometimes but the other horse had not put the race to bed and has been called a few rude names in the past, so I am not sure that Red Square Revival would not have won anyway.  Tom Scu is now on the hot jockeys' list having won on 8 of his last 37 rides at a 22% strike rate.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Redcar, Kempton and Wolverhampton while there is a jumps fixture from Exeter.  It is a big day at the Devon track as they host the Haldon Gold Cup and with £130,000 up for grabs across the card, they will be hoping for a big turn-out.  Well done to Exeter, who have managed to secure more prize money than the three flat cards put together.  David has one runner at Exeter today as You Say What contests the three mile handicap chase at 3.05pm.  He has won twice at the track although he would have to improve on recent form to figure.

It's amazing how many sports are subject to suspicious betting patterns.  I find it incredible that from 72 suspicious incidents, tennis accounts for 46 of them, followed by football and table tennis...yes, I did say table tennis!  I once made a few quid on the table tennis as they used to have a right idiot pricing up the matches at the world championships.  He didn't know enough about the Chinese players and priced them up incorrectly...happy days!

West Ham have appointed a new manager; David Moyes.  Not only does he have to keep the club in the Premiership, he also has to win over the fans.  My mate says that he is the last man you would want in charge of the club - I say let's give him a chance.  I don't know whether to laugh or cry!  Talking of football, the worst loser in the sport is Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger - it is never his fault when the team loses.  The simple truth is that he has run out of ideas and is blaming everyone else.  The sooner he is gone, the more likely Arsenal are to return to the glory days.

I just won't stand for people who try to take my seat!  Keep smiling...
