It was a good day for the yard at Taunton yesterday with the ready success of Tobacco Road in the 2m handicap hurdle.  He has been running on the level during the summer but was certainly ready to go on this first start back after a little break.  He was winning here from a mark of 98 and judging by this he can win again so long as the handicapper is not too harsh.  Meanwhile, Midnight Magic certainly improved a great deal for the step up in trip on his handicap debut, finishing a close-up third.  He may very well have gone even closer but for a bad blunder at the penultimate flight and looks as though he can win races, again handicapper permitting.

Today marks the start of the Cheltenham November meeting that the stable has traditionally done very well at, so as you can imagine the excitement levels are rising!  As well as Cheltenham, there is jumps action from Newcastle and a couple of flat fixtures from Lingfield and Chelmsford.  It is a quiet start to the Cheltenham meeting with just one runner from Pond House as What A Moment bids to follow-up his success of twelve months ago in the amateur riders' handicap chase at 12.40pm.  He is partnered once again by Richard Harding and although a little higher in the weights, a repeat of that effort would see him in with every chance.

The cross country chase at 3.00pm looks interesting as you always get loads of Irish raiders over for these races.  J P McManus has the top three in the weights and Jamie Codd is over to ride top weight Cause Of Causes, so he could be the one to be on.

I see that Rafa Nadal won in a different court yesterday.  He successfully won libel damages against a former French sports ministers Rosalyne Bachelot who made doping allegations against Nadal in a television interview last year.  Nadal won £11,000 in damages and interest...you would have thought it would have been a lot more than that.  Nadal is a great sportsman and someone who shines as an example to all sports people.

I see that 16 times world darts champion Phil 'The Power' Taylor wants to join the 'I'm A Celebrity' camp site next year.  At least most of us have heard of Phil (unlike a few from the forthcoming series!).  I think AP would make a great addition - he doesn't eat a lot anyway!

I was all alone at home last night when I heard someone fart.  I didn't know whether to laugh or be scared!  Keep smiling...
