There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Taunton, Towcester and Musselburgh and an all-weather flat meeting from Newcastle.  David runs Timeforben at Towcester in the 1m7½f maiden hurdle at 2.40pm.  Our five year old won an Irish point-to-point and she finished a creditable third at Exeter on her hurdling debut last time.  This stiff track should suit her and she has place claims under Tom Scudamore.  Closer to home, at Taunton we have Tis What It Is (pictured above) in the 2m novices' hurdle at 12.20pm.  He showed decent form but would need to improve on his most recent outing at the track to figure here.

I thought that Irish Prince shaped with promise in the bumper at Hereford yesterday, finishing fifth.  He stayed on in the closing stages having been outpaced.  Everything seemed to be happening a bit quick for him on this tight track and he already looks to need a much more thorough test of stamina - he is a staying chaser in the making.  Lady Of Longstone was not discredited, filling the same position in the handicap hurdle.

The Racing Post's Christmas jumper looks good this year.  There is a picture of sidelined jockey Sam Twiston-Davies modelling one in the paper today.  They have raised £40,000 for racing related charity's since it's inception in 2014.  They are reasonable at £19.99 so take a look at their website for further details.

I don't want to talk about football (again!).  Just when I thought things couldn't get much worse, they get beaten 4-0 by Everton.  I would love to know who scouted and signed the players at West Ham - they are not Premier League standard by any stretch of the imagination.  What has new manager David Moyes won within the game?  The board have lost touch with football (if they were ever in touch with it in the first place)...glad to get that off my chest!  At least the good things; Chelsea, Manchester City and Arsenal all won last night.

Tiger Woods will begin his comeback at 5.05pm today in the Hero World Challenge in the Bahamas.  He will join Justin Thomas in a too ball.  Bookmakers have him as a 40/1 chance in the 18 player line-up so that tells you what they make of his chances.  Justin Rose is available to back at 10/1 and this is his home track so he could be worth a look.

This one has been doing the rounds over the past few days so I apologise for that, but it still made me smile...Apparently Prince Harry has stated that he doesn't want the traditional fruit cake at his forthcoming wedding.  Prince Philip has said that he doesn't give a #*%@ and will be going anyway!  Have a nice day...
