There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Ludlow supported by two all-weather flat meetings from Lingfield and Kempton.  David runs Tis What It Is and Abracadabra Sivola at Ludlow.  Tis What It Is contests the three mile amateur riders' handicap hurdle and he will be partnered by Rex Dingle who with his claim, reduces his weight to 10-1.  He does have bits and pieces of form in bumpers but would need to improve on what he has shown so far over timber.  He looks as though he will benefit from a step up in trip and that is exactly what he gets this afternoon.  Abracadabra Sivola runs in the staying handicap chase at 3.00pm.  He is well treated from a mark of 118 when you consider that he was winning from 129 in March, but he has been disappointing since.  He will love the ground and gets on with David Noonan, so who knows?!

I thought that Broadway Buffalo took another big step forward yesterday, finishing a close fifth (beaten only 7 lengths) on his second run back from a long lay-off.  If he can continue to build on this, there look to be more races in him.

There weren't many people who turned up at Doncaster yesterday.  While there were a couple of big fields, there was also some very uncompetitive stuff on offer.  I keep saying it, but there should be a few fixtures that offer free admission.  At least that way the sport might attract some new fans, or even some returning customers.  We are under the impression that racing is still a big sport, but I am not so sure looking at some of the crowds in attendance.  You see minor league football teams attracting bigger audiences than these on a regular basis.

Chelsea take on Arsenal in the semi-final of the League Cup tonight.  Let's hope that both managers play people that we have heard of!  The winners will play the winner of the Manchester City versus Bristol City round in the final.  Manchester City won the first leg 2-1 courtesy of a 90th minute goal but Bristol acquitted themselves well and there is still the second leg at home for them to look forward to.

It seems as though Conte and Mourinho are acting like a couple of spoilt kids.  They don't seem to realise what good jobs they have or how much money they will earn (and I use the term 'earn' advisedly).  Give them a proper jobs like stable lads and they would soon know what hard work is all about - then they wouldn't have all this spare time to be slagging each other off!

Meanwhile, Real Madrid's Luca Modric has paid Spanish authorities £880,000 after being accused of tax fraud.  I wonder how much he must have earned?!

Why did Donald Trump keep decorating his Christmas tree?  Because his advisers kept saying "moron"!  Have a nice day...
