Score at Towcester

Today we have four meetings, jumps cards at Musselburgh and Towcester plus flat cards at Lingfield and Wolverhampton.  David runs Know the Score in the 4.40pm at Towcester, a 2m bumper.  Our five year old won a point to point on soft ground.  He was the 5/2 favourite that day and won with a bit in hand and my Irish mates mates tell me it was a very good race.  There are only six runners in the field but it looks competitive to me and others also have form in Ireland.  I think we should win as the track will suit him but it won't be easy.  David also has one runner on the flat at Lingfield.  Celestial Path runs in the 3.50pm 1m4f Conditions stakes with Luke Morris on board.  The horse has run in some top races on the flat and has lots of ability but my one concern would be the 12f trip.  There is some good prize money on offer with only four runners in the field.

I did tell you yesterday that the Alan King trained Coeur De Lion would win at Southwell.  He now heads for the Martin Pipe conditional jockeys race at the Cheltenham Festival.

I thought is was a great result for Spurs against Juventus last night.  They got a draw and they were 2-0 after 9 minutes.  I love the name of the Juventus goalkeepr called Buffon.  Lets just say he is 40 years old and well named!  Man City beat Basel 4-0 and they looked different class.  Tonight it is the turn of Liverpool who play Porto.  You can back the Scousers at 11/8 so that will give me a bit of interest.

Tiger Woods plays and hosts this weeks Genesis Open on the Riviera course.  It is the only PGA event that he has played in four times and not won.  Woods tees off with Tory McIlroy and Justin Thomas who hitched a ride in Tiger's private jet to get to LA.

Ronnie O'Sullivan is back in action in Preston against Rob Milkins at the World Grand Prix next week.
