It's not very often that you hear me say it, but it is a good job that we have the all-weather today as that is all that is on the menu following the abandonment of Musselburgh, Market Rasen and Wincanton.  Having said all that, the runners at Newcastle today are competing for just £34,000...not exactly rich pickings and I bet the horses would rather be staying in bed today!  I watched our runner; Celestial Path very closely on the all-weather at Lingfield yesterday and he travelled very strongly until dropping away two furlongs out.  I would not be at all surprised to see him go well at a mile or even seven furlongs, while a few pounds off his back would also be beneficial.

I always laugh when I read the Racing Post's interviews with the trainers in the run-up to the big meetings.  It is always full of trainers that have never had their horses in better form!  Indeed, with none of the horses are working badly, we are surely in for a treat come the Cheltenham Festival!

It is travelling head lad Craig Wylie's birthday today.  According to the Racing Post, Craig is 48 but I wouldn't be at all surprise if that were wrong!  If you need anything, give Craig a call and he can get hold of it for you!  Many happy returns Craig.

According to the latest research, only a third of the public think that the gambling industry is fair.  I wonder what the odds are on it being more than that?!  The most interesting statistic to me though was that less than 40% of people who played these roulette machines only did so for fun rather than to win money...I have to be honest, I have my doubts about that one.

Mauricio Pochettino insist that Harry Kane will have to leave Spurs to win anything.  I wonder what Kyle Walker would say?  He left Spurs to go to Manchester City where he earns twice as much and is on course for three trophies.  It is clearly a no-brainer - sorry to any  Spurs fans out there!  Let's hope that Spurs beat Rochdale tonight.

Usain Bolt will captain a World XI at Manchester United's ground on June 11th against an England side led by Robbie Williams.  Bolt said that "England better watch out!"  Given the physical stature of both captains, I would be inclined to agree with Bolt!  Still, it is all in aid of charity.
