Today we have five meetings, flat cards at Doncaster, Lingfield and Wolverhampton plus jumps cards at Newbury and Bangor.  Tom Scu has gone to Bangor for a couple of rides as David does not have any runners.  Today see's the start of the proper flat season with a good card at Doncaster.  The big race is at 3.35pm, the Lincoln handicap with 22 runners.  Mind you, all the races look very competitive at Doncaster.  It is slightly strange that with all the big races up at Doncaster that Frankie Dettori goes to Lingfield for two rides.  They do look two good things to me though.  They are giving the ground at Doncaster soft so there could be some big price winners.  Look at the first race carefully as it is over 6 Furlongs and see which side is best for the draw as this is so important.

Everyone seems to have lumped on Fire Brigade.  Ryan Moore rides and four of his five wins have come on soft going.  I see that trained Harry Dunlop has put MCP in his top five of who inspired him to be a trainer.  He says "very few people have totally changed the face of thier sport but he did".  Mind you, the picture of MCP is not very flattering!

I collected on my football bet as England beat Holland 1-0.  The papers are applauding England's performance but I don't think it was that good.  Don't forget Holland have not even qualified for the World Cup.  Stirling is not a striker.  He gets about 25 chances a game when playing for his club Manchester City to score.  He is not ever going to get that many chances when playing for England.  As soon as they lose a match the papers will knock them down.  I should not really be moaning however as I did collect!

Ireland lost to Afghanistan in the Cricket World Cup by five wickets so it means they will not be in next summers World Cup in the UK.  I did not even know that Afghanistan had a cricket pitch in their country!

The lengths people will go to win swimming races.  Have a nice day.
