Today we hopefully have three flat cards at Lingfield, Newcastle and Bath (inspection 7.30am).  I watched the racing from Towcester yesterday and it was probably some of the worst ground I have ever seen.  One of the races was 1 minute 19 seconds slow and in fact it took 7 minutes 12 seconds to run the handicap chase.  I would think it will take quite a while for some of those horses to recover.  There was a claimer at Wolverhampton yesterday and the winner was claimed by Olly Williams for £9,000.  It was an eight year old called Thair and I wonder if he will try and put it over hurdles?!

There is a great card to look forward to at Lingfield today.  There is great prize money of over £1 million up for grabs and even the apprentice race is worth £31,000.  The card has been well supported with quality and quantity of runners which is good when they have put up the brilliant prize money.

Just imagine bringing your horse over from Ireland to run at Chelmsford and then they refuse to race!  Well that is what Anthony McCann's first runner at the track did just that!  Temasek refused to race in the 1m6f handicap.  I wonder if the owners came over to watch their horse.  It's a long way to Tipperary!

There were plenty of tears at the Aussies cricket conference and even the coach Darren Lehman broke down.  Mind you, captain Steve Smith really started crying.  He looked like me after one of my good things has got beaten!  Luckily it does not happen very often!!  At least Smith took full responsibilty for the stupid things they did.  Talking about cricket, England are 290 for 8 against New Zealand at the moment.  It is a shame for a great cricketer like Alistair Cook to be failing again.  If we get a couple days of rain we could get a draw.

Olympic relay silver medalist Simone Facey has pulled out of Jamaica's athletics team for the upcoming Commonwealth games because the flight would take almost 40 hours to reach Australia!  It must be too long to hold the baton!

Clearly my mouth was intended for a much larger person... don't agree!  Have nice day.
