There are three race meetings today.  Jumps cards at Ffos Las, Newcastle and Plumpton.  David's only runner of the day is Garran City in the 4.20pm at Ffos Las.  He has run well the last twice in novice hurdles and tackles handicap company over three miles for the first time.  The ground will be very testing but he should handle this okay and have a good chance with Tom Scu on board.  Tom also rides for his brother at the meeting.  In the 5.20pm race he rides Smiths Cross and that looks to have a good chance.

While I was at Aintree I bumped into two old jockeys, Steve Smith-Eccles and Graham Bradley.  We had a good chat for quite a while about the old days and there were some great stories, most I could not repeat!  Steve told me about when he was asleep in his car and it got stolen from Aintree!  He woke up on the M6 and he frightened the life of the driver who had stolen the car!

Anyway, on to our fun Grand National quiz and the answers from yesterday...

* Which father and son team trained and rode the National winner in 2000?  Ted & Ruby Walsh - Papillon

* Which past winner is fence number 7 named after?  Foinavon

* Which two National winners had the shortest names?  Oxo & ESP

Don't forget this Wednesday there is a big charity football match.  There is the McCoy team of jockeys playing a Cheltenham team of legends.  It kicks off at 7.30pm at the Rail stadium and the money raised goes to the Injured Jockeys Fund.

Jimmy White predicts that half of the snookers world top 16 will come from China in the next 6 years.  I played table tennis against many Chinese players.  They have so many of them that play and that is what is going to happen in the snooker and I agree with Jimmy White.  Talking of China, it is the Chinese Grand Prix at 7.10am.  I like watching on the TV.  I went to Brands Hatch once and while the atmosphere is great they fly past you so quick you hardly see anything!  I shall then be going back to bed to recover from my three days at Aintree!

Money talks...but all mines says is goodbye!  Have a good day.
