There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Newmarket, Kempton and Beverley as well as a jumps card from Cheltenham.  David has three runners at Cheltenham this afternoon; Ramses de Teillee, Taj Badalandabad and Dell' Arca.  Ramses de Teillee (pictured above) contests the 2m5f handicap chase at 2.40pm - he has been in good form this season, showing himself to be a useful novice.  Course and distance should suit and he looks to have sound claims in this competitive contest.  Taj Badalandabad excelled himself when finishing fourth in the Pertemps Final at the Cheltenham Festival and he should run well again in this wide open handicap hurdle at 4.25pm.  Dell' Arca runs in the 3m2f handicap chase at 5.00pm and he has a small each-way chance.  He was in good form over timber earlier in the season, although would have to improve on his most recent efforts to figure.  Tom Scudamore rides all three of our runners.

We had another good morning yesterday during our whistle stop tour of Lambourn.  We visited Richard Hughes' (pictured below with AP) yard before paying a visit to his old guv'nor Richard Hannon junior - he worked over 100 two year olds on the gallops while we were there.  Meanwhile, Richard senior looked after us very well indeed (probably a little too well in fact!).  I was surprised to see Timmy Murphy there riding out - it was certainly good to catch up with him and have a good chat.  I think that today we are going to go and annoy John Francome and Owen Burrows - don't tell them, they don't know it yet!

I see that over in Ireland Gordon Elliott is well ahead of Willie Mullins in the trainers' championship, although Mullins has absolutely loads of entries at Punchestown.  With such good prize money on offer I am going to have a little wager on Mullins to make the ground up.

Bournemouth play Manchester United tonight and it is a very small stadium for such a big match.  Let's hope that United improve and don't disappoint their millions of fans again...they are 3/4 chances and I am going to back them again, I must be mad!

I have just bought a rusty second-hand car and the only gear that works is reverse.  At least it gets me from B to A!  Keep smiling...
