There are three meetings taking place this afternoon and peculiarly they are all over the sticks with the action coming from Ludlow, Plumpton and Southwell.  David has one runner this afternoon as Timeforben (pictured above) contests the 2m7f mares' novices' handicap hurdle at Southwell at 3.30pm.  She won nicely at Kempton last month and a rise of 4lbs for that does not look unreasonable.  She looks to hold sound claims under Tom Scudamore.  I see that David Noonan is also at the meeting having picked up a couple of outside rides.  Let's hope that he can get a lift to the track with Tom to curb travelling expenses - we are not all Rory McIlroy's!

If you find yourself missing the flat, there is a good looking card at Leopardstown in Ireland.  Aidan O'Brien has loads of runners on the card, but none in the two handicaps.  I wonder just how many handicappers he has in his yard?  If you are mad keen on flat racing, there is action from Sha Tin!  They have ten races on their card from 6.00pm until 10.45pm.  Just think, I will have been asleep for about 3 hours by the time the last starts.

Football managers love to stir things up.  Former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has told Spurs that they may have to sell Harry Kane to pay for their new stadium.  What on earth does it have to do with him anyway?  I know that it has wound one of my Spurs mates right up.

Talking of football there are loads of Premier League matches on today and I will be having a cheeky little double on Burnley at 5/4 and my beloved West Ham at 29/20.  The biggest problem is that these teams have nothing left to play for and plenty of the players will be looking forward to a nice, sunny beach to lay on.

Thought for the day, some things are really hard to hear...especially if the people on the next table are whispering!
