More Birthday Wishes!

Today we have five meetings, flat cards at Nottingham, Beverley and Ripon plus jumps cards at Cartmel and Warwick.  Tom Scu goes to Warwick for one ride this evening in the 6.45pm race.  I see that former loud mouth bookmaker Barry Dennis is having a go at modern day bookmakers.  One thing I must say about Barry is that he always pays out.  Some of these modern bookies always seem to be looking for a way out of paying out if you won a few quid.  I always found the old bookies always stood a bet and if they didn't fancy a horse then they would stand a large bet on your horse.  Having said that I did have all my accounts closed!

I better wish Richard Hannon senior a very Happy Birthday.  He is 73 today and he really looked after MCP and me when we visited him recently.  I wonder how many bottles of wine will be opened today?!  Richard & MCP are the same age and have birthdays on consecutive days!

I see that Ghost Serge was claimed at Leicester after he won for £12,000.  On old form he is well handicapped so he is one to keep an eye on in the future.

I see England's number one tennis player Jo Konta has blamed the b..... in the press for her continued failure to win at the French Open.  She has never won a match in the main draw.   wonder if she has considered that she might not be good enough?!  I don't see what it has to do with the press how she plays tennis!  I saw a picture of super mum Serena Williams who had a super mum catsuit on.  The outfit was inspired by the Marvel movie Black Panther.  I don't think I would like to upset Serena, she looks a real handful!
