              Drama King and Claire Wyatt

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with a flat card from Newcastle and three jumps fixtures no less, with the action from Fontwell, Bangor and Southwell - we are being spoiled!  David has one runner today as ex-French Grade One bumper winner Delirant makes his debut for the stable and has his first start over timber in the maiden hurdle at 2.30pm.  His French form was on heavy ground, but he looks as though he will handle conditions and has schooled well over hurdles at home.  He hasn't run for a while but is a fascinating runner.  Tom Scudamore is in the saddle and he is in for a busy day as he then has to head to Southwell for three outside rides.  Meanwhile, David Noonan who rode a double at Newton Abbot yesterday has picked up three outside rides at Fontwell and he looks to have a couple of decent chances.

A couple more pictures from the gallops this morning and David has done well to capture recent sales purchase Percy Street who is Royal Ascot bound and Drama King (pictured top), ridden by by Claire Wyatt who will be competing in a charity race for stable staff at Wincanton in July.

It was bad news for Paul Nicholls' newly appointed stable jockey Harry Cobden yesterday when it was announced that a fracture in his neck means he will need to spend the next three months on the sidelines.  We wish him a speedy recovery.

The big tennis match between Serena Williams and Maria Sharapova never materialised yesterday as Serena was complaining of a chest muscle injury that was preventing her from serving.  Let's hope she is fit enough to play at Wimbledon - she is fantastic for the women's game (and I love her outfits!).  Hopefully Andy Murray will be fit enough to play at Wimbledon too - the Brits are such a big draw there.

I see that the PGA have sold their overseas television rights to the Discovery Group for a massive £1.5 billion for the next 12 years.  It could spell the end of Sky's wall to wall coverage.  Let's hope they can sort out some sort of deal with Discovery...no golf on Sky, whatever next?  Meanwhile, lady player Laura Davies tied for 4th place in the European Senior Mens' Tour.  Unsurprisingly she was the first woman to play in the event and this is a great result.  Laura is a big racing fan.

If I had to take one thing to a dessert island it would be a spoon.  Have a nice day...
