There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with flat cards from Brighton, Pontefract and Windsor as well as a jumps card from Worcester.  David has three runners at Worcester; Kalifourchon, Just Midas and Ardmillan.  Kalifourchon (pictured above) contests the 2m7f handicap chase at 2.45pm and he is well treated on the best of his hurdle form.  He fell last time out in a chase at Stratford but was still going well at the time and is capable of a big run with a clear round.  Just Midas runs in the 2m4f maiden hurdle at 4.45pm.  He has run creditably in a couple of bumpers but was disappointing in a hurdle race last time out and would need to improve on that effort to figure here.  Our final runner is Ardmillan who is owned by David's partner Leanne.  He is having his first start for the stable in the 2m7f handicap hurdle at 5.15pm.  He is well handicapped on his old form so let's hope that the change of scenery has done him good.

What a performance from Justify to win the Belmont on Saturday and in the process land the Triple Crown.  When I watch the American racing the ground always looks so completely different to anything we have over here.  It now appears that Justify could be coming over to race at Royal Ascot at some stage - now there would be a real crowd-puller.

It would seem that the fighting at Goodwood is not just confined to the stands with jockey Raul da Silva banned for 21 day for violent conduct after hitting former champion flat jockey Jim Crowley in the weighing room at the course.  It sounds as though there was more action there than in the Tyson Fury cuddle (I was going to say fight but that would be less than accurate)!

What a performance from Scotland to beat England in their one day international cricket match.  The achievement should not be overlooked, afterall England were world number one in this discipline.  It would be like Celtic winning the Champions' League!  I know a few Celtic fans who will be gloating today, something that I never do!

Rafa Nadal won his 11th French Open title at the weekend and joins Margaret Court as the only other player to land 11 titles in a Grand Slam tournament.  He is certainly exceptional on a clay surface, although you can still back him at 6/1 to be victorious on the grass at Wimbledon.  I don't think I can be tempted at that price.

World Cup favourites Brazil looked good in beating Austria 3-0 in their warm-up match and they can still be backed at 9/2 to land the tournament while the Germans are 5/1.  Brazil are my idea of the winners at this time.
