There are three meetings today, all over the sticks at Perth, Southwell and Stratford...good race planning again!  David does not have any runners today.  Yesterday we had top flat meetings at York, Newmarket and Ascot all in the afternoon.  I bet the flat boys wish one of those meetings was on this afternoon instead?  Tom Scu goes to Southwell for five rides but looking at them I am not sure he is going to have a winner but we shall see!  As you know, I like to follow trainers who have travelled a long way.  Peter Bowen fits into this category and he has a few runners up at Perth.  His horses are in good form and he looks to have some chances.

I see Frankie Dettori says he is devastated by the 10 day ban he received and is thinking of appealing.  The band runs from Friday 27th July until 5th August inclusive.  This means he will miss the big meetings at Ascot and Glorious Goodwood and he would have had some fantastic rides at these meetings.  Unfortunately I am not sure an appeal would make any difference in this instance.

I read that Richard Hughes says that jockeys should be kept out of stewards inquiries.  I actually thought the inquiry after the Coral Eclipse made quite good television.  I do know what Richard Hughes means however, some jockeys are good talkers while others are not.  Ryan Moore does not speak during inquiries.  Hughes says "let stewards make decisions based on what they see".  I just hope it's not the one who sorts out the photo finishes after all the controversy lately!

I have been watching the Scottish Open golf.  All the courses are looking so dry and burnt at he moment and the ball is bouncing all over the place!  If we don't get any rain soon, what is the British Open going to be like?  I know when I play at my local course at the moment I have never hit the ball so far, it just seems to keep running forever!

Back at Wimbledon a young lad called Jack Draper will be the first British player in the boys singles final for seven years.  The last boy to win the title was way back in 1962.  His father was a great winger for Blackpool and England and his son had the same name if anyone knows his name?!

If bees could talk I bet they would just drone on and on...have a nice day!
