Frosted_Grape_Uttoxeter_11Frosted Grape after her success in the last at Uttoxeter yesterday

The good form of the stable continued in the closing race at Uttoxeter last night when Frosted Grape won the handicap hurdle under champion jockey A P McCoy.  She was well-backed throughout the day and clearly relishing the step up to three miles, she came away to win well - I wouldn't be at all surprised to see her turned out again shortly.  She won four races last season, showing progressive form to win three chases and a hurdle, and while clearly not quite as good over timber she was able to take advantage of a mark 17lbs lower than over fences.

The British Open golf starts next week at Sandwich and Tiger Woods will be a notable absentee having pulled out yesterday.  I just wonder if he will ever return to his glory days?  To me it seems that his knee and achilles are taking an awfully long time to get right - just think, he would have the best specialists in the world trying to fix it.  These majors never seem the same without the Tiger on the prowl...at least Tiger's caddy has found alternative employment with Adam Scott.  One person who won't mind Tiger missing The Open is Brendan Jones who is first reserve.

I see that Carlos Tevez wants to leave Manchester City.  He wants to live nearer Argentina so that he can be nearer to his daughter.  He is alleged to be on around £200,000 a week, and not even that money can keep him at City - I would laugh my socks off if he finished up somewhere like Chelsea (well I suppose it is nearer to Argentina and there are better restaurants!), so don't cry for me Tevez!
