Notus_De_La_Tour_Carlisle

How good was Notus de la Tour at Carlisle yesterday?!  Our five year old jumped like a seasoned veteran on his chasing debut and scored with plenty in hand under Tom Scudamore.  Tom soon had him in front and he made all to put in one of the most impressive rounds of jumping I have ever seen from a horse having his first start over fences.  Tom was clearly pleased with him as he couldn't stop patting the horse down the neck - it's just as well the race wasn't over further or Tom might have been banned for patting the horse too many times.  He gave Notus a big hug afterwards - I must ask Tom why he was so emotional...it was like Lough Derg all over again - get your tissues out!

Don't forget to pick up your copy of today's Racing Post as it features a six page piece about David in their excellent stable tour feature.  David talks about many of the string and picks out Top Wood as his horse to follow, while MCP plumps for Arrayan...he goes on to say that he looks to be on a winning mark - let's just hope that the handicapper does not read the stable tour!  My horse to follow is easy...it has to be Grands Crus over fences - sorry I couldn't be more original!

I thought that Tottenham played some great football against QPR yesterday.  Parker looks to be one of the buys of the season and produced one of the best midfield displays I have seen in a long while.  The Premiership looks to consist of three tiers - at the top you have Manchester City and Manchester United, then you have Liverpool, Chelsea, Tottenham and Arsenal and then the other fourteen teams can fight it out for seventh in the table...this football game is easy!
