With only a handful of fixtures, last week was a quiet one for the stable with two runners; Midnight Magic and Stubborn Logic participating over the weekend.  There is more jumping action to look forward to this week and although our first runner won’t come until Thursday at Perth, we have considerably more entries from Friday onward.

It was good to be amongst the winners again last week, especially as we only had limited opportunities.  Indeed, with the current racing calendar most accurately described as patchy at best as far as jump racing is concerned, that trend is likely to continue into this week as well.  With only a midweek National Hunt meeting from Kelso before the weekend action, it is going to be a quiet start.

I was pleasantly surprised to be back among the winners last week courtesy of Malangen’s Southwell success on Tuesday.  He had a bit to find at the weights but ran out a cosy winner in the end at the rewarding odds of 12/1.  Meanwhile, with another promising new arrival from France to look forward to in the near future, there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic for the core part of the jumps season ahead.
