Great sporting achievements. Talking about great sporting achievements, what about American golfer Erik Compton. He won the Mexico Open, shooting a seven under par 65 in the final round only three years after his second heart transplant. Now I think that takes some beating. Remaining on the topic of golf I see that Tiger Woods does not seem to be getting any better from his injuries and it looks like he will need a miracle to now beat Jack Nicklaus's record of 18 Majors. I saw that Jack was actually over watching Wimbledon last week. It is very hard to come back from serious injury, as the William's sisters proved in the tennis.
Talking about the tennis, what about all the ladies grunting at Wimbledon?! Maria Sharapova set a record breaking 105 decibel yelp in 2009! That is louder than a motorbike and enough to cause hearing loss! She is still grunting, like so many women these days but her record looks safe for now!
Rafael Nadal is 13/8 on with Hills to retain his Wimbledon title in the mens singles final today. I also see that some of the firms are quoting Andy Murray at 5/2 to never win a Wimbledon title. It maybe a good bet but it could take a long time to collect your winnings as Murray will probably still be playing in another 10 Wimbledons! It should be a great match this afternoon though between the world number 1 and 2 and I shall certainly be watching Nadal and Djokovic.
As promised I was out with my camer on the gallops yesterday while the sun was shining and my first two pictures are of Very Cool and Beattie Green.
