Percy Street runs at Worcester Today

We have our first runners of the week today at Worcester.  Ranco runs in the first division on the 2 mile handicap hurdle at 2.05pm with Tom Scudamore on board.  He had three runs in juvenile hurdles last season before have a little break from that while the ground was too soft.  He had his first start on the flat for the yard last month and was a nice winner at Windsor over 1m4f, staying on really powerfully in the last two furlongs.  He returned to the track to run with a penalty a week later and ran okay up in grade but it was always the plan to return hurdling when the ground was more to his liking.  The ground has dried to good which should be fine for him, he has schooled well and is in good form at home so we are hopeful of a good run in his first start in a handicap off a mark of 97.  The betting has him as second favourite and fingers crossed he should run well.

Percy Street is our second runner of the day in the final race on the card at 4.45pm.  This is a competitive handicap hurdle over 2m4f and Tom Scudamore is on board once again.  Percy has lots of ability but sometimes after travelling really well in his races doesn't find as much as you might hope when push comes to shove.  He has a change of headgear from blinkers to a visor this afternoon and he has dropped in the ratings so although it looks a tough race on paper, I would not be surprised to seem him run well at a good price.  It is an eight race card at Worcester this afternoon so plenty of action to watch and there are also flat meetings at Ripon, Haydock, Sandown and Carlisle while there is also jumping action in Ireland at Limerick.

There are more sales today where we are looking to buy some more horses to strengthen our team for the season ahead.  This is the Cheltenham May sale but it is actually being held at Newmarket.  There are mostly Irish point to pointers on offer and the sale gets underway at 1.00pm and you can watch online.  If anyone has any interest in getting involved in ownership please do give us a ring on 01884 840715.

Last night I was watching the Europa Cup Final but it was a painful ending for me as I am a Manchester United fan!  We went into the final as firm favourites but did not play that well and after it still being 1-1 after extra time it was time for a penalty shoot out and what a climax that proved to be!  After 5 penalties each the scores were level at 5-5 with every player scoring and the shoot out continued with sudden death.  It reached 10-10 each and then it was the turn of the goalkeepers to have a penalty against each other and needless to say the Villareal keeper scored his attempt but David De Gea had his effort saved!  The wait for a Manchester United trophy under Ole Gunnar Solksjaer goes on!

A guy walked into a bar and ordered a double scotch, a bourbon on the rocks and a triple vodka.  He said to the bartender "I shouldn't be drinking this with what I have got".  "Why what have you got?"  "About 30 cents"!!  Have a nice day.
