       French Champion Hurdle Winner

There is no jumps racing today but there are two flat meetings at Doncaster and Salisbury and in Ireland there is a jumps card at Downpatrick and flat racing at Gowran Park.  The stable does not have any runners today. 

In the Euro 2020 football today there are three Group matches and England get their tournament underway at Wembley against Croatia at 2pm.  The other matches today are in Group C with Austria playing Macedonia at 5pm and the evening game is the Netherlands versus Ukraine at 8pm.

At Roland Garros it is the Men’s Final at 2pm with Djokovic playing Tsitsipas who his reached his first Grand Slam final.  I was lucky enough to watch live at Roland Garros a few years ago and it was a great experience and I would love to go again.  I travelled over with Un Temps Pour Tout when he won the French Champion hurdle and managed to get some men’s quarter final tickets for the day before – it was the best weekend!  Roland Garros is right next to Auteuil racecourse in Paris so it worked out perfectly. 

Declarations are made today for the first day of Royal Ascot which gets underway on Tuesday.  Unfortunately we have no runners in the Ascot Stakes this year, a race synonymous with Pond House but we shall be watching with keen interest.  Willie Mullins looks to have a strong hand in the race with the first three in the betting.  I see there has been quite a lot of money for M C Muldoon which has Ryan Moore booked to ride – a telling sign perhaps?!  Second favourite is stable companion Rayapour with Derby winning jocky Adam Kirby on board and third in the betting is recent winner Saldier and at the time of writing there was no jockey pencilled in for this one as yet.  It looks highly like the prize could be heading to Ireland but there are still some very good British entries so they might have something to say about that!
