Today there are four flat meetings at Lingfield, Carlisle, Windsor and Nottingham and no jumps racing.  The stable does not have any runners.  In Ireland they have flat racing at Gowran Park and a jumps meeting at Kilbeggan.  On Saturday Story of Friends was a little disappointing up at Hexham.  He does have plenty of ability but does not always show it when you want him to!  He ran okay but we know he is better than that, he may well have a go over fences at some point in the near future.  Leoncavallo ran okay at Sandown on the flat but was a little keen early on which did help his chances at the end of the race.  He finished eighth but was only beaten 5.5 lengths and James Doyle was pleased enough with him and said he should be winning on the flat again very soon.

I didn't actually get to watch the French Open tennis final yesterday from Roland Garros but see that Djokovic came from two sets down to win 6-7 (6-8), 2-6, 6-3, 6-2, 6-4 to beat fifth seed Tsitsipas.  The victory means that he is just one major title behind the men's record jointly held by Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.  What a trio of players.  The world number one will have the opportunity to move to level with them both and reach 20 titles at Wimbledon next month.

I did however watch England win their opening match of Euro 2020 yesterday afternoon.  The game started well for England and they nearly took an early lead but the post denied Phil Foden scoring the opening goal.  I have to say the game was a little dull after the first quarter but at the end of the day it is the result that matters most and it was brilliant to get a 1-0 victory with Raheem Stirling scoring the winner.  It was pretty hot in London, like everywhere yesterday so it was not surprising that it was not an end to end game.  In yesterday's other matches Austria beat North Macedonia 3-1 and the Netherlands beat the Ukraine 3-2.  There are three matches today and Scotland get their campaign underway at 2pm as they take on the Czech Republic.  Hopefully they can get themselves off to a winning start at Hampden Park as it would be good if both England and Scotland could both qualify from this group.  The other matches are Poland versus Slovakia and and this evening Spain play Sweden at 8pm.

A man went to the doctors with a cucumber in his left ear, a carrot in his right ear and a banana up his nose, "what's wrong with me his asked?" "Simple" said the doctor "you are not eating properly".  Have a nice day.
