There are five meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Worcester and flat fixtures from Sandown, Yarmouth, Doncaster and Newbury.  David has two runners today; Lady Reset who runs on the level at Sandown and Veiled Secret at Worcester.  Lady Reset contests the 1m2f handicap at 3.55pm and has been in good form since reverting to the flat, winning at Leicester and Doncaster before finishing third from this mark at Beverley last time out.  The heavy rain turned the ground against her that day but she still performed with credit and this quicker surface should suit her much better.  Winning rider Laura Pearson is back on board and she looks to have sound each-way claims.

Our other runner is Veiled Secret (pictured above) who runs in the 2m4f handicap hurdle at Worcester at 4.05pm.  A winner over course and distance on good ground last time on his debut for the stable last time, he will clearly appreciate conditions.  He needed every yard of the trip to get up close home last time so a 4lbs higher mark, whilst not unreasonable, will make this harder.  Even so, he should be right there once again and looks to have a good each-way chance with Tom Scudamore taking over in the saddle.

I pointed you in the direction of a 3/1 winner yesterday afternoon with Ladies Church landing the Listed sprint for two year old's at Naas yesterday in good style.  She looks to be improving at a rate of knots and wouldn't look out of place in Group company.

Great Britain's women's football team made the perfect start to their Olympic campaign by beating Chile 2-0 in their group match yesterday.  Japan and Canada could only draw their match, meaning that Team GB are at the top of Group E.  Elsewhere, world champions USA were thrashed by 3-0 by Sweden.

The main body of the games controversially gets underway in Japan tomorrow with many opposing such an event during the ongoing Covid pandemic.

A man went to the doctor and told him that he could no longer do as much around the house as he used to.  He didn't seem to have any energy for chores.  The doctor gave him a thorough examination and at the end the man said, "Okay doc, I can take it.  Tell me in plain English, what's wrong with me?"
"Well," said the doctor.  "In plain English, you're just lazy."
"Okay," said the man, "now give me the medical term so I can tell my wife."
