It was a good weekend for the stable with our two runners yielding a first and a second place.  Do Ya Feel Luck was a game winner of the 2m7f mares' handicap hurdle at Worcester yesterday, getting the better of a photo finish.  With the protagonists on opposite sides of the track it was hard to tell who had won initially but it was great for her to get her head in front.  She had been a little unlucky last time, meeting trouble in running, but this was much more like it and great for his owners Somerset Racing, many of whom were in attendance.  Oneonechop also ran well to finish runner-up in the 2m1f handicap hurdle at Newton Abbot on Saturday.  He was just a little unlucky to bump into one that seems well ahead of it's mark.

Lady Reset was a non-runner at Sandown yesterday as the rain had changed the going to good/soft.  The faster the ground, the better for her.  I am sure there will be other opportunities for her shortly.

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Stratford and flat fixtures from Chepstow, Brighton and Ripon.  There are no runners from the Pond House team today.

Arsenal slumped to another defeat yesterday, this time losing 2-0 at home to Chelsea.  It is not a good start for the Gunners who lost their opening game to newly promoted Brentford.  There were no such problems for Manchester City who put five past Norwich.  Manchester United could only manage a draw with Southampton yesterday.  Already there are only four sides that have won both of their matches - it is obviously very early days, but could we be in for a competitive season?

Former world champion, Mark Williams won the British Open snooker final yesterday, beating Gary Wilson 6-4.  It was a good performance from Williams, who was winning another ranking event 25 years after his first.  Meanwhile, Wilson was less than gracious in his post-game interview.  I understand that he was disappointed to lose a final, but come on Gary, you've just picked up £45,000 for finishing runner-up to a player that was better on the night...cheer up!
