There are two meetings taking place this afternoon with a flat fixture from Goodwood and a jumps card from Newton Abbot.  David has two runners; Ramses de Teillee (pictured above) and Grangeclare Glory who both run at Newton Abbot.  Ramses de Teillee makes his seasonal reappearance in the 3m2f handicap hurdle at 2.02pm.  Our popular grey did well to win over fences at Cheltenham last season from a 2lbs higher mark than this and he will enjoy the prevailing soft ground.  He has to concede weight away all round and looks to have each-way claims under Tom Scudamore.

Our other runner is Grangeclare Glory who contests the 2m5½f handicap hurdle at 3.12pm.  He showed progressive form in his first two starts last term before disappointing at Fontwell in February.  There were reasons for that effort, so with this longer trip expected to suit, he looks to have an each-way chance - it is just a pity there are only seven runners for the place terms.

I will be tuned to the television tonight for the American Football.  My beloved Vikings will be looking to get their season back on track as they take on divisional rivals Detroit Lions at home.  A loss will pretty much put a nail in the coffin of their season after just five weeks.  I desperately hope that is not the case!

The Turkish Grand Prix takes place this afternoon with Lewis Hamilton having to overcome a grid penalty for an engine change on Friday.  With title rival Max Verstappen taking a penalty at the last race, yet still finishing second, Hamilton will be hoping to do something similar today.

My friend lost his job at the dairy farm because of his erratic behaviour.

He was a danger to himself and udders.
