I think that Jimmy Lindley is being a little harsh when he says that apart from Frankie Dettori, Ryan Moore and Richard Hughes, we have the worst crop of jockeys that there has ever been. I am sure that current champion Paul Hanagan would be none too pleased to hear that...I also happen to believe that Kieren Fallon can still ride a bit. Could it be that Jimmy is living in the past? I often find myself waxing lyrical to my son Lester about footballers like Pele and the West Ham players who won England the World Cup (!), Bobby Moore, Hurst and Peters - of course, today's footballers are every bit as good - they are fitter and look after themselves better (when they are not hanging out in night clubs)!
I know that my son talks a lot of sense (I know, I'm not sure where he gets it from either!) and that today's sportsmen are just as good if not better in a lot of cases. I have to disagree with you Jimmy - I think that today's jockeys are every bit as capable and work a lot harder...gosh, I sound like Mr Angry again!

I was amused to see Jamie Spencer's quote about the ambulance at Yarmouth yesterday - he said "that ambulance is older than me!". Clerk of the course, Richard Aldous heard of another problem with the vehicle with disbelief and added "I thought they were joking when they told me they had a problem with the ambulance again. A new one has now arrived and the old one can go and die somewhere."

It was good to see Tom Scudamore back in action on the gallops yesterday(video now available on David's weekly blog), so hopefully he will be back in action on the course before too much longer. Talking of the gallops I have a couple more pictures from earlier in the week, including Woodlark Island who runs at Worcester this afternoon. He worked in company with new recruit Must You Go, while I also have a nice picture of Laustra Bad for you.

Finally, what about Rupert Murdoch getting a custard pie? I have to be honest, he did look to be a trifle upset! The fellow obviously wasn't too sweet on him! That's all folks!
