There are three meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Bangor and Exeter as well as an all-weather flat card from Kempton.  It is a busy day for the stable today with five runners at the two jumps fixtures;  Major Robinson, Story Of Friends, Nordic Combined and Doyen La Lutte run at Exeter, whilst Umbrigado goes to Bangor.  Major Robinson contests the 2m7f conditional jockeys' handicap hurdle at 12.40pm.  He has been a little disappointing on his last couple of starts, but is back to the same mark as when runner-up at Wetherby in April.  This longer trip could help and he could outrun his odds with Philip Armson taking 6lbs off his back.

Story Of Friends makes his chase debut this afternoon in the 1.40pm race at Exeter and is on a feasible mark, 5lbs lower than when an unlucky runner-up over hurdles at Newton Abbot last season.  A winning Irish point-to-pointer during the earlier part of his career, we know he jumps and stays and has each-way claims at a big price under Tom Scudamore.

Nordic Combined (pictured above) contests the 2m handicap hurdle at 2.10pm and he represents the David Pipe Racing Club.  A winner on his seasonal debut, he is still 4lbs higher than that mark, but 2lbs lower than when runner-up at Kelso.  He has the ability to be involved and gets on well with Fergus Gillard.  Another with place claims.

Doyen La Lutte is our last runner at Exeter as she makes her hurdling debut in the 2m2½f mares' novices' hurdle at 3.40pm.  A winning point-to-pointer, she was not beaten far on her rules debut in a Fontwell bumper in May and has had a break and a wind operation since then.  She could also go well at a decent price.  Fergus Gillard takes 3lbs off here back.

Over at Bangor, Umbrigado is our only runner as he contests the competitive 2m3½f handicap hurdle at 3.00pm.  A high-class novice chaser last season, who was successful in the BetVictor Gold Cup from a 5lbs higher mark, he has claims if reproducing that sort of form.  He faces no easy task trying to concede weight to all bar one of his rivals, but he has a decent each-way chance with David Noonan in the saddle.

There is a big day for England's cricketers as they face New Zealand for a place in the T20 cricket world cup final.  The winner of this game will face either Pakistan or Australia in the final on Sunday.

Why couldn’t the leopard play hide and seek? Because it was always spotted.
