There are two meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps action from Uttoxeter and Exeter.  It will be a busy hour for the Pond House team with four runners in the final two runners at Exeter today.  He runs Miss M, Oneonechop, Jewari Of Saints and Home Farm House at the Devon track.

Miss M contests the 3.00pm race, a 2m½f handicap hurdle at 3.00pm.  She found things all happening a bit quickly for her around Hereford last time and this stiffer track should suit her better.  She is on a reasonable looking mark and has each-way claims under Martin McIntyre, who takes a handy 7lbs off her back.  Oneonechop contests the same race and ran better last time when a place in front of Miss M, although he faces a hard task from 6lbs out of the weights.  He is partnered by Philip Armson.

Jewari Of Saints and Home Farm House contest the 2m5½f handicap hurdle at 3.30pm.  The former was a good winner at Dieppe on her final start in France but has been a little disappointing on her two starts in this country to date.  She needs to improve on what she has shown so far, but looks feasibly weighted and could outrun her odds.  Home Farm House was the winner of an Irish point to point and was not beaten that far at Newton Abbot on her final start in April.  She is another that will be better suited by this galloping track and could a little each-way chance at a big price under Tom Scudamore.

There are a couple of Premier League football matches to look forward to this afternoon with Manchester City versus Everton and Spurs versus Leeds.  City should have too many guns for Everton, whilst Spurs will be disappointed if they can't beat Leeds, so it looks like a couple of home wins to me.

The Qatar Grand Prix takes place today with Lewis Hamilton trying to narrow the gap to Max Verstappen at the head of the drivers' championship with only three races to go.  The Mercedes looked on a completely different level last week in Brazil, so it will be interesting to see how they get on on a brand new track to F1.

My beloved Minnesota Vikings travel to Green Bay tomorrow to take on their arch rivals, the Packers.  They played well to beat a decent team last week, but unfortunately the Packers are better again and I have low expectations.
