There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Catterick and Bangor and all weather flat fixtures from Newcastle and Chelmsford City.  David has one runner today as Sidi Ismael (pictured above) bids to extend his unbeaten run for the stable to four in the North Yorkshire Grand National at 2.40pm.  The 3m6f represents another step up in trip, but he saw out 3m3½f well at Market Rasen last time when landing the Lincolnshire National.  He is 8lbs higher today which will obviously make things harder, but he is the most progressive runner in the line-up and comes here in good form.  He is plenty short enough in the market but has obvious claims with Tom Scudamore taking the ride.

We will have another couple of runners tomorrow when Kotki and Thanksforthehelp run at Huntingdon, so come back then to find out more about their chances.

It was another cold start this morning with temperatures well below freezing and a white frost all round.  I shouldn't complain too much as it has been extremely mild until this week.  A few degrees warmer would be nice though, if anyone is listening?!

West Ham duly beat Norwich last night to move back into fourth place in the Premier League, although Arsenal and Spurs, directly behind them, do have games in hand.

Chelsea never really looked in any danger of losing the second leg of their semi-final Carabao Cup match against Spurs and will now face the winner of the Liverpool versus Arsenal match, the first leg of which takes place tonight at Anfield.

Judd Trump narrowly edged a thrilling first round match against Mark Allen 6-5 in their first round Masters snooker match yesterday afternoon to set up a quarter-final clash with Kyren Wilson, who also prevailed 6-5 against Stuart Bingham.  The big match today is undoubtedly Ronnie O'Sullivan versus Neil Robertson in a rematch of the recent World Grand Prix final and it promises to be another cracker.

What did Snow White say when she came out of the photo booth?  "Someday my prints will come".
