There are just two meetings taking place this afternoon with jumps cards from Hereford and Plumpton and not for the first time, there is a dearth of runners on a Sunday, with the largest field on Plumpton's seven race card just seven. The best of the action comes on the other side of the Irish Sea where Fairyhouse hosts a card that features a pair of Grade 2 contests as well as a couple of Listed races.

David has one runner today as Kolisi contests the 2m handicap hurdle at Hereford at 3.55pm.  A quality performer on the flat, he hasn't replicated that over timber as yet, although he has been quite highly tried.  The better ground should suit him and he has only 10-0 to carry, so it would be no surprise to see him improve, despite being 6lbs out of the weights.  Tom Scudamore takes the ride.

There are a couple of Premiership matches taking place this afternoon with West Ham hosting beleaguered Everton, whilst Spurs are home to Newcastle.  The Magpies just seem to have gone off the boil lately, so this looks like a couple of home wins to me.

The final of the Cazoo Tour Championship snooker takes place today and defending champion, Neil Robertson looks a worthy favourite to me.

I'm not here now for a couple of weeks (I can almost hear the collective sigh of relief!), so I will leave you with a couple of crackers...

What did Winnie the Pooh say to his agent? "Show me the honey!"

I tried to organize a professional Hide-and-Seek tournament, but it was a complete failure. Good players are hard to find.
