There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Warwick, a flat fixture from Beverley and all-weather action from Lingfield and Newcastle.  David has three runners at Warwick today, Al Roc, El Paso Wood (pictured above) and Dindin.  Al Roc is the first of those as he contests the 2m4f handicap chase at 3.35pm.  He is already four times a winner over fences this season and although he has been below that level most recently, he is back to his last winning mark.  It is a competitive litte race despite the small field and it would not be a surprise to see him outrun his odds under Tom Scudamore.

El Paso Wood runs in the 3m1½f handicap chase at 4.10pm and he arrives in excellent form having won his last two starts at Stratford and Uttoxeter.  Today's conditions should suit and a 4lbs rise for his last success is reasonable enough and he has decent claims.  Tom Scudamore rides.

Our final runner is Dindin, who runs in the 2m4f conditional jockeys' handicap chase at 4.45pm.  He has had a couple of near misses from a higher mark than this, so is feasibly weighted, although he has been a bit disappointing recently.  If returning to his best, he would have claims, although he may prefer a softer surface.

I am glad that I didn't stay up until stupid o'clock to watch the Minnesota Vikings on the wrong end of a spanking from the Philadelphia Eagles last night.  Quarterback, Kirk Cousins had a night to forget as he threw three interceptions and was seen to be throwing up on the sidelines as they fell to a 24-7 defeat.  Cousins record in primetime games continues to be a reason for concern as he has won only two of those twelve matches.  I have to admit, I was feeling pretty sick myself when I saw the scoreline...perhaps talk of 'this is finally going to be our year' after one week was a little premature?!

I haven't been posting jokes during the period of mourning for the Queen, but I am back to torment you today...

I have just read that it takes three sheep to make a sweater.  That's amazing, I didn't even know they could knit!

Have a nice day everyone.
