King Turgeon runs at Aintree today!
It's an action packed Saturday with the jumps cards coming from Wincanton, Aintree and Kelso. With the flat action coming from Doncaster and Chelmsford. In Ireland, they have a jumps card only today which is coming from Gowran Park.
Yesterday at Fontwell Ben Lilly ran a more encouraging race and just couldn’t quite go with them in the end, he's a character and doesn't always try his hardest, but it was a step in the right direction. Jilaijone jumped well throughout and a step up in trip may suit him, with softer conditions. Micronormous looked to maybe find things happen a little too quickly, but she galloped on all the way to the line and will appreciate a step up in trip. Final Entry ran well and wasn't beaten far, it's hard for juveniles in handicaps and he will appreciate softer conditions.
Today we head to Aintree and Wincanton with one runner at each. King Turgeon runs at Aintree in the Grand Sefton at 2:40pm over 2miles 5f with Jack Tudor in the saddle. He put up an outstanding round of jumping on his first start back this season and deserves his spot in the line up today. He has schooled well over the fences at home and his jumping style looks to suit these fences and will like the conditions today.
Remastered heads back to Wincanton for the Badger Beer at 3:30pm over 3miles 1f with Tom Bellamy riding. He came back to form at the track on his recent start and showed a tough performance to keep rallying out to the line. The track obviously suits him and although it’s a competitive field and this would be a big step up, he’s in such good form at home and I wouldn’t be surprised to see him run another big race.
Lots of emotional scenes at Exeter yesterday and Bryony Frost looked to receive the biggest cheer of the day when winning on Asian Spice for her father Jimmy at their local track. She flew back from France where she has made a new life as retained rider for Simon Munir and Isaac Souede and what a successful trip it was! She was straight back on a flight to France that evening but hasn't ruled out riding in Britain regularly again.
Plenty of football action coming from the Premier League with the first set of games to kick off at 3pm. The latter game of Liverpool Vs. Aston Villa kicks off at 8pm.
I can always tell when someone is lying, I can tell when they're standing too!
Have a great weekend!
