Vision De Maine runs today!
It's a colder start this morning and the jumps action comes from Huntingdon, Lingfield and Hereford with the flat action coming from Southwell on the all-weather. In Ireland, they have a jumps card coming from Fairyhouse.
At Kempton yesterday afternoon, Steppenwolf ran well to finish second and it was a good return back from a wind op, he kept galloping all the way to the line, jumped well and it was a step in the right direction.
Today we head to Lingfield with one runner, Vision De Maine who runs in the 3:20pm Novices’ Handicap Chase over 2miles 7f with Jack Tudor riding. He put up a nice performance last time out to win at Uttoxeter on his first start over fences. Even though the handicapper has raised him, you'd like to think there will be more to come from him.
Yesterday, Windsor racecourse held a trial gallops morning and lots of trainers turned up for it to show their support. Windsor who have been most commonly known for holding Monday evening flat fixtures, will be having jumps racing during the winter. They used to stage meetings under both codes but stopped in 1998, when management decided to get rid of the jumps cards. The track has undergone plenty of work to make this possible and the jockeys provided plenty of feedback which sounded like on a whole it was a positive outcome and they are due to hold their first meeting on 15th December.
The list of early-closing entries will be revealed today for the BetMGM Fighting Fifth Hurdle at Newcastle and you can expect to see Constitution Hill's name in the line up, as he looks to make his return to the track there. It'll be great to see him back on the course after what was a frustrating season for the Henderson team last season.
I also just wanted to mention a special happy birthday to Pete Green, who I'm told does read the stories!
What do you call a bee that can't make up it's mind?
A maybe!
Have a great Tuesday!
