It's a cold start today and the snow is starting to fall very lightly at Pond House this morning, but the jumps cards come from Wincanton and Warwick where the stable has runners at each meeting. While on the flat, the all-weather action comes from Wolverhampton, Southwell and Lingfield. In Ireland, they race over jumps in Thurles.
It was two runners for the stable yesterday; Harry Junior made his debut over obstacles and he looked to do his best work at the end and looked a little keen, It was a good starting point for him and I think a step up in trip will suit him in the long run. Jilaijone ran another solid race and travelled well throughout, the ground looked to suit him perfectly, and he just bumped into another one on the day again so hopefully, it will not be too long before he gets his head in front.
Today we have three runners across two meetings, First Lord De Cuet runs at Warwick in the 2:25pm Veterans’ Handicap Chase over 3miles with Jack Tudor on board. He is ever so consistent when he runs and deserves to get his head in front; he is in good form at home and pretty versatile on ground.
We then head to Wincanton with a couple of runners, African Lady runs in the 12:45pm Hands and Heels Handicap Hurdle over 2miles 3f with Rian Corcoran on board, who is having his second ever ride for us. She has been a little disappointing, but has shown some improvement in recent runs, but she will need to work on this today. Kintaro finishes off the day running in the 3:58pm Handicap Hurdle over 1mile 7f with Gearoid Harney riding, he gave Amy a spin round at Wincanton in the Keagan Kirkby charity race a few weeks ago so he’s had a trip out! He has shown some ability over hurdles, just sometimes doesn't always seem to show it!
What do you call a lazy kangaroo?
A pouch potato!
Happy Thursday!
