American Sniper runs at Cheltenham Today
We have reached Day 3 of the Cheltenham Festival and we head to Prestbury Park today with one runner, American Sniper. He runs in the Pertemps handicap hurdle at 2.40pm and Jack Tudor rides. It is a very competitive race and we are one of the outsiders so he has it all to do but I am sure his owners will have a great day out. He is a course winner and will enjoy the better going and he carries a lightweight. Blinkers return and I wouldn’t be surprised if he were to give a bold sight for a long way and hopefully he may stay there!
The Ryanair Chase and the World Hurdle are the feature races on today’s card and Fact to File heads the market for the Ryanair at 3.20pm and Teahupoo is looking to defend his stayers hurdle crown and I think he will. There are plenty of competitive handicaps on the card and It may be hard to find the other winners!
There were emotional wins for both Marine Nationale and Jazzy Matty at Cheltenham yesterday with both horses winning for the second time at Cheltenham Festival’s. Michael O’Sullivan rode both horses to their last victories in 2023 and I am sure he must have been looking down on them yesterday.
The New Lion was impressive in the Turners novices hurdle while Ballyburn supporters new their fate some way from home with jumping errors proving his undoing. Jonbon did well to finish second in the Queen Mother Champion chase after not jumping well either.
Alongside Cheltenham today, there is also jumping action at Hexham and two all-weather cards at Newcastle and Chelmsford. In Ireland they have jumping at Limerick.
Enjoy Day 3 everyone!
