Time seems to be flying by at the moment and on writing there is just one more sleep until Royal Ascot.  Sadly I do not have any runners there this week but Leanne and I our making our usual Tuesday trip to the Royal meeting.  It has been three years since we were last there so it will be good to be back and I am keeping my fingers crossed that I can fit into my suit!

                       Morgenstern
one of three winners for the stable this week

Whilst Morgenstern was winning at Newton Abbot last week, we were busy buying another exciting prospect from France.  Nila, a three-year-old filly from an excellent family (by a German Derby winner, out of a German Oaks third) bolted up in the 1m6f claimer at Saint Cloud on Wednesday, scoring by an easy 6½ lengths on just her fourth start.  Her stamina for the jumping game looks assured and she will go straight in our loose school to be aimed at juvenile hurdles over the coming months.  There was considerable interest in her post-race, but we were lucky enough to secure her and she looks great value.  She is still available to buy at present, so if you have any interest please do get in touch!

Mr Tambourine Man - Winner Last Week

The good early season form of the stable continued last week with the successes of Mr Tambourine Man, Awesomedude, Lady Reset and Al Roc taking our tally to seven winners.  On top of that, we were very active at the sales, with the purchase of several lovely new horses at Doncaster, so these are exciting times for the team.

Although quiet numerically last week with only four runners, I remain pleased with the form of the horses as we were on the mark with a couple of winners as well as a second.  The successes of Al Roc and Vernon Subutex last week and Mr Tambourine Man this afternoon, took our tally for the season to four at this early stage and we will be looking to add to that this week with a few more jump meetings on the agenda.  Meanwhile, I will be on my travels later in the week with the Doncaster Horses In Training Sales taking place.

I was pleased to get off the mark for the new campaign with Romain de Senam’s brave success at Newton Abbot last Wednesday.  The horses continue to run well with a number of other placed efforts, although it is perhaps a little frustrating that we have not converted a few more of those into wins.
