One Sedgefield Runner

There are four meetings taking place this afternoon with a jumps card from Sedgefield and three all-weather flat fixtures from Southwell, Lingfield and Kempton.  David has one runner this afternoon with Mr Clarkson (pictured above) taking in the final of the 2m4f handicap hurdle final at 3.40pm.  Regular rider David Noonan is in the saddle once again and he claims a handy 3lbs off his back.  He has been very consistent since joining the stable winning three times and finishing runner-up once from five starts and he should go well once again although he meets Crackdeloust on worse terms than when beating that rival here last month.

I know that the members of the Pipe's Prospectors syndicate are looking forward to a day at the races despite a long journey.  Sedgefield have always been well renowned for their excellent hospitality and warm welcome and they have kindly laid on a hospitality box which is very much appreciated.

I saw a race at Hexham yesterday where all of the jockeys other than the winner should have been called in.  Baracalu was given a massive start and not one of the jockeys behind seemed the least bit concerned, indeed they didn't give chase until it was much too late and the winner had flown, winning by 30 lengths easing down.  It did not look good at all I'm afraid.

Godolphin have just purchased a horse called Brian The Snail - where do some of these names come from?!  If it had been called Ashley The Snail I could have understood - that's a stable joke, although he is not very stable!

I can see why Chelsea player Eden Hazard is stalling on signing a new contract - the poor love has only been offered £300,000 a week, how will he make ends meet?  These players just do not live in the real world.

You know you are in trouble when even punk rock legend Johnny Rotten of Sex Pistols fame is calling for your head.  Believe it or not he is an Arsenal supporter and he wants Arsene Wenger - I don't think he is alone in that sentiment.
