One at Ffos Las

There are three meetings today, jumps cards at Ffos Las and Plumpton plus a flat card at Southwell.  Tom Scu goes to Ffos Las and he rides Bambi Du Noyer in the 5.45pm race for David.  This is a handicap hurdle of 2 miles and although he needs to improve on recent form this is his first run for the yard and he works okay at home.  Tom has picked up some nice rides but all the races look tricky to me!  If you are looking to have a day racing tomorrow on Bank Holiday Monday there are couple of point to points in the West Country.  At Kingston St Mary near Taunton, the first race is at 2.00pm and there are seven races.  They usually get a great crowd and hopefully the weather will be kind.  There is also a meeting a bit further south at Trebudannon, near Newquay in Cornwall.  The first race is at 1pm and they usually get good runners at this popular track.

Looking further ahead there looks like there is going to be great racing at Punchestown.  Willie Mullins is looking to run Un De Sceaux, Nichols Canyon, Melon, Let's Dance and Annie Power to name just a few!  It looks like the Irish trainer's title is going to go right down to the wire.

I have been looking through the horses for sale at the Cheltenham April sale.  It starts on Thursday 20th April at 6.30pm after racing.  There are lots of point to point winners on offer and if you want to find out  more information or are interested in a horse please give the office a call on 01884 840715.  Lot 16 is called Mrs Barnes, I wonder how much she will make?!  She has finished second to a horse called Kapatana who was sold for £120,000 but she is a lot younger than Mrs Barnes and probably has a better coat!  Hopefully my Mrs Barnes will not read this!

The big game today is Man United versus Chelsea at 4pm.  Chelsea are 2/1.  West Brom play Liverpool and Liverpool are 10/11.

The postal service has got so slow that last month my flower seeds arrived as a bouquet!  Have a nice day.
