Entries & Recent Form

There are five meetings taking place this afternoon and all of the action comes on the level with fixtures from Yarmouth, Catterick, Lingfield, Kempton and Bath.  David has a runner on the all-weather this evening as Vincent's Forever (pictured above) contests the 1m3f handicap at 8.25pm.  Our four year old has shown some fair form over hurdles without winning yet, but his last run on the flat yielded a win on this track in August 2016 and he runs from a 2lbs higher mark this evening.  It looks like a very open race and Adam Kirby is in the saddle.  Meanwhile, over at Lingfield, I see that they are offering a paltry £30,000 for their seven race card.

Lady Of Longstone ran a decent race at Uttoxeter last night to finish third in the mares' handicap hurdle, beaten only five lengths.  She looks to be returning to form and this was her best effort for a little while, trying to concede weight to the two in front of her (even after Michael Heard's claim).

I see there is a flat for sale in Newmarket close to the Tattersalls Sale Paddocks.  It would be a great buy as you could bid at the auctions from your bedroom!

When I was in Lambourn on Monday I was interested to ask all the trainers and jockeys what the best surface to train on was.  Of course, they all came up with different answers but after a debate between rounds, it would seem that wood chip is still the material of choice...that may surprise a few people.

What a great performance from Johanna Konta to beat the number two seed at Wimbledon yesterday and claim her place in the ladies semi-final.  That is the first time a British lady has made it to the semis since Virginia Wade 39 years ago.  She now takes on former champion Venus Williams for a place in the final.  Venus is 37 now and must be coming to the end of her magnificent career - Konta may never get a better chance of a Wimbledon title.

Andy Murray takes on Sam Querry today in their quarter final and he has a 7-1 record in head to heads against his opponent.  The American does have a big serve and does like going for his shots so he could be dangerous.

I see golfer Lee Westwood has split from his agent Chubby Chandler after 24 years.  They own some nice horses together so it will be interesting to see what happens to their racing interests.

Have you tried the new 007 glue?  It bonds in seconds!  Keep smiling...
